About me

I am a Ph.D. student in the Robot Perception Lab, supervised by Dr. Shan Luo. I am also a research intern in Huawei Noah’s Ark Lab, London, supervised by Dr. Jiankang Deng. My passion lies in endowing robots with generalizable and explainable tactile sensing abilities akin to those of humans. My Ph.D. research primarily focuses on overcoming challenges in vision-based tactile sensors and contact-rich robot grasping and manipulation tasks using learning-based methods, including generative learning, transfer learning, and reinforcement learning.

Before starting my Ph.D., I spent a year as a fully-funded visiting student at the National University of Singapore, conducting research on Manta Ray robots, supervised by Prof. Chew Chee-Meng. I obtained my master’s degree from Xiamen University, where my research interests included the simulation, fabrication, and verification of flexible tactile sensors and their applications in robotics.

• May 2024: I am attending ICRA 2024 in YOKOHAMA, Japan with one extended abstract “Deep Domain Adaptation Regression for Force Calibration of Optical Tactile Sensors” accpected by ICRA 2024 ViTac-workshop.
• Jan 2024: I am attending 5th UK Manipulation Workshop in Oxford University with poster presentation of soft tactile sensors.
• Oct 2023: I start my Phd at robot perception lab at King’s College London under supervision by Dr. Shan Luo.
• Feb 2023: I receive fullly-funded offer for Phd program in International Max Plank Research School for Intelligent System (IMPRS-IS) and King’s College London.
• Dec 2022: I obtain my Master Degree with Distingction.
• Oct 2022: I am awarded National Scholarship for Postgraduate from Ministry of Education, China.
• Jan 2022: I start as a fullly-funded visiting research student at National University of Singapore under supervision by Prof. Chew-CheeMeng.
